At least I’m not addicted to drugs.

Besides buying shoes and beauty product, it’s come to my attention that I now have a new addiction: tattoos. Since I was a kid, I always knew I was gonna get a tattoo, if not one then a few. But I think I might have a problem now.

Last May my friend Matt jokingly suggested he give me a tattoo. I seriously agreed. I gave him a little sketch of a ladybug as a guide to what I wanted. WHY THE FUCK WOULD ANYONE WANT A LADYBUG? My mom always said if she were to get a tattoo it’d be a ladybug. So I figured I’ll get this for my mom, cause she’s never gonna get her ladybug. Anyway he pretty much stabbed me a handful of times with a fucking giant ass needle. I made the strangest noises. Dana can attest to this. I ended up with a cancerous mole type thing on my thigh. Which at first I thought, holy crap this is ugly as hell and hurts like a motherfucker, but now I can appreciate its unsightliness.

The following month I got another tattoo. An overpriced as fuck diamond on my back. NO MEANING AT ALL. Then I got another one the following month after: California bear with the Filipino sun behind it. Then the month after that I got cholo lettering on my hip.

In the past 2 weeks I managed to get 2 tattoos and they are my favorites so far. Traditional roses on my shoulder and hearts with mom and dad on my inner bicep.

(That’s the face that gets aaaallllll the fellas…)

I just told the longest story ever. But pretty much I want more tattoos. I’m not stopping at 5 1/2 tattoos. I think this addiction has totally taken over my shoe addiction…

I got the beautyblender.

OK I lied! I found a beautyblender dupe and I’m so ecstatic to use it!

The original beautyblender retails for $19.95 and looks like this:

Anyway, I got this sponge for less than 5 bucks. I’m not kidding! I found it at CVS and it’s from the Essence of Beauty brand. When I bought it I was like DAMN this is tiny, but I soaked it up and it took in water very well, expanding to about double its size. It feels so different than any other sponge I’ve ever felt—it’s like super soft suede. It’s seriously fucking AMAZING! I used it to apply my favorite foundation Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse, and it seriously made the application so….fun? Now I’m not sure about the availability of these sponges cause I could not find any coverage on them on any blogs or sites, not even posted as a product on CVS’s site… But happy hunting if you are interested!

P.S. Leila, you should get this to apply your Revlon Colorstay!!

My 3 Favorite Gurus

I’m sure I’m not the only one on here like this, but a total guilty pleasure of mine is watching YouTube “Guru” (as they are called) videos. I’ve learned basic tips from the plethora of tutorials on YouTube and have saved myself a good amount of money by watching product reviews, which are my absolute favorite to watch by the way. So here are my top YouTube Gurus:

My new makeup storage!

I got drawer unit for around $8 from Target, which is waaaay cheaper than the cosmetic storage at the Container Store. All of my makeup fits perfectly in here. The top drawer contains all of my foundations and concealer. The second drawer has what I put on my face after foundation, so blush, highlight, bronzer, finishing powder. The third drawer has all my eye make up and tools, eyelash curler, tweezers, eyeshadows, brow pencil, liners, and mascara. (Note: I do not wear all of this makeup at once.)

The glass that holds my brushes is also from Target, which I bought on sale for about a dollar a long time ago. It’s actually plastic so its lightweight, but still easy to clean.

The container for my lipsticks I got from the Container Store a long time ago, so I can’t recall the price.

My Sonia Kashuk blush cracked right when I bought it cause I dropped it on my bathroom tile. So I emptied out the broken blush into a little plastic paint container I had in my ArtBin (you can see it in the 2nd drawer). I also emptied out a highlighting powder from Physicians Formula into another paint container because PF packaging is so excessive and bulky that I hated seeing how much space it took for such little product.

I suggest that everyone go hit up a Target and go to the storage solutions aisle and the sale sections of the glassware and get organizing! It’s seriously one of my favorite things to do. Sometimes when I come home from work to relax I just sit in my bathroom and organize everything. Is that weird?

P.S. I can’t lie, I’m highly considering getting Melissa’s travel box thingie.

Revlon Colorstay, so I normally don’t wear much foundation but I really wanted to give it a try. I chose this one because of the online hype I’ve read. I really like that it really does stay on for a long period of time, I tried it this whole week during my 9hr work shifts and it held up. I was scared it was going to melt off my face…pretty good deal and for around $12 dollars I was going to complain. One of the drawbacks from this though is the smell. It smells like paint! Which kind of freaks me out( what the heck am I putting on my face). Weird.

I finally found the perfect organizer for my make-up and brushes, and it was at Target for $7.99! I almost got the small three stacked drawer that Rocky had, which looks really convenient also. But since I’m always going back and forth from different houses, I needed a travel friendly organizer and this totally fit the bill! I love it! All my make-up and brushes are organized and travel ready! Thanks to the girly day at Target with Rocky & Christina!

p.s. Sorry for the photo quality, I only have my camera phone with me.

Kat Von D’s Painted Love Lipstick in “Hellbent”

Hello all! I don’t usually wear lipstick, and if I do it’s normally a nude color. I decided to move onto new territory with a red shade. I went on a Sephora trip with Rocky and she helped me find two shades that I simply loved. One was called Stiletto, which is a bright orangey red and the other is Hellbent which is a “blood red”—the make-up line’s words not mine haha. I purchased “Hellbent” and I love it! I’ve only worn it one day, but so far it’s been pretty good at lasting through a lunch and short work day. It is a bit drying, but that may just be me because I tend to have dry lips and apply chapstick numerous times a day. I simply wore some chapstick over it to remedy the dryness.

Onto the packaging. While it is cute with the tattoo rose pattern, the clear plastic bottom did crack. I had to exchange the first one I bought b/c it was cracked right out of the box, but now my new one is cracking so I may have to exchange it once again. It seems to be very fragile :/

All in all, it’s a good lipstick and is definitely motivating me to try more! The small range of shades is very flattering, considering that I fell in love with the first and only 2 shades I tried. I’d say Kat Von D’s color choices are right on the money. They are also very saturated. I highly recommend you give it a try if you find yourself in her section :) I’d rate this product 4/5, even though I’ve only had it one day haha.
